  Granite occurrences of China are widely distributed in six major administrative regions, of which 47.4% are in the East China region and 27.6% in the North China region. Situated along the coast, the East China region is the leading producer of granite commodities in China, where, with developed economy and transport facilities, the conditions of granite development and utilization are generally good. But the main export goods are medium- and low-grade, light-colored granite. The high-quality, high-grade granite deposits are usually small-sized and scattered. They are distributed in the North China, Southwest and Northwest China regions, but their conditions of development and utilization are relatively poor.
